In these paintings I celebrate the beauty, power and fragility of the natural world. Whether my home on the coast of Massachusetts, the islands of the Pacific Northwest or the Peruvian Andes, I am drawn to places with a rich indigenous spiritual heritage. There I work to capture momentary miracles: visions of a sunset, the first faint colors of spring, or the symbolic relationship of a shell and a seascape, images that may inspire respect, tenderness and awe. These encounters remind me of our deep connection to Earth - and our responsibility to protect this planet.
